Dataset Description


The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme was launched in 1975. It is one of the largest programmes in the world for the holistic development of children and is being implemented across the country. The scheme primarily aims at preventing malnutrition and improving health of children aged 0-6 years. Simultaneously, mothers’ health is also given priority. Importance is laid on early child care and learning environments. The scheme is being funded by the Government of India as well as the State Governments on the basis of a fund sharing agreement.
