About the Budget

The budget is presented account head-wise. 2. The 2013-14 (BE) figures are from the 2014-15 budget document. The 2014-15 (BE) figures are from the 2015-16 Budget Document. Similarly, the 2015-16 (BE) figures are from the 2016-17 budget document. 3. The Budget summary in the Budget document 2015-16 contains errors. The overall summary given in Page 19 (pdf page) does not match with the summaries given in pages 22- 29. There is another overall summary in Page 21 (pdf page) which has incorrect years in the header. This is actually the summary for 2012-13 (actuals), 2013-14 (BE), 2013-14 (RE) and 2014-15 (BE). We have therefore tallied the total of various sheets in the data set with the totals given in the detailed budget and ignored the summary. In the 2016-17 budget document as well, there are similar errors. 4. The closing balance of cash does not tally with the balances given in the budget document for various years. 5. The data set has taken the 2015-16 budget presentation as the template. In case the descriptions of budget items are marginally different in the 2016-17 budget, the 2015-16 budget descriptions were retained. However, if there were significant changes in the 2016-17 budget, the data set was altered to reflect the 2016-17 descriptions. 6. When there are nil allocations in the budget, the municipal corporation presents it as a dash or as a blank or a zero. In the data set, we have presented nil allocations as zero.
