About the Budget

Gaya Municipal Corporation budget presentation format has changed over the years, with the format being very different for years after 2015-16 compared to the previous years. We have therefore captured the data in two separate datat sets. 1.The budget documents of Gaya Municipal Corporation before 2015-16 were presented in different a format. Hence, separate datasets have been created for capturing the Gaya Municipal Corporation Budget for 2014-15 and for the years 2015-16 and 2016- 17. The current data presents the budget for Gaya MC for the years 2015-16 and 2016- 17. 2. The 2015-16 and 2016-17 budget documents are more updated and with account codes. 3. The original budget documents of the reported period are arranged in the following manner: First the summary of Receipts and Expenditure are presented. This is Major Account Head wise. Next, the Receipts and Expenditure are presented Minor Account Head wise. After that, the Receipts and Expenditure are presented Detailed Account Head wise. This data set captures the Receipts and Expenditure Detailed Account Head wise. Data is captured for 2013-14 (Actuals), 2014-15 (BE), Actuals up to December 2014, 2015-16 (BE), 2014-15 (RE), 2014-15 (Actuals), 2015-16 (BE), Actuals up to December 2015, 2015-16 (RE), 2016-17 (BE). 4. In certain cases detailed head name and detailed codes have not been provided in the original budget documents; we have also left them blank. 5. Amounts in the original budget are not in Lakhs. However, in order to maintain uniformity with other data sets, we have converted the amounts into 'Lakhs'. 6. We have done our best to interpret the acronyms in the budget document.
