Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Budget (Updated till FY 2020-21)

Budget of the Municipal Corporation of Bhubaneshwar provides account head-wise details of the corporation’s sources of income and use of these resources.

About the Budget

1) The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Budget is arranged Account head wise. Only some of the expenditure items are reported by function. 2) In the 2016-17 budget document, grants have been classified separately as Revenue and Capital. In the previous budget documents, this classification was not available. In the data set, we have presented the grants as revenue or capital as per the budget document. Although the revenue grants bear the account code which is for capital items, we have gone by the presentation in the budget document. The data for the previous years also have been reclassified as per the classification in the 2016-17 budget document. Grants which were presented as capital grants in the previous data set have been marked as Revenue grants in this data set. Major changes are mentioned in details. 3) The Major account code and Minor account code descriptions have been taken from the National Municipal Accounting Manual. Within a Major code group, account codes have been placed in the ascending order. 4) The amounts in the budget are given in Rupees. We have presented the same in Rupees Lakhs. 5) When there are nil allocations in the budget, the municipal corporation presents it as a dash or as a blank or a zero. In the data set, we have presented nil allocations as zero.
